CHARLOTTE – On Wednesday, June 29th, between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, the Office of Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) will host their inaugural Men’s Health Symposium. This symposium will raise awareness about healthcare for men and address diseases that disproportionately impact men, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and depression. The discussion will focus on encouraging men to practice a healthier lifestyle in observance of National Men’s Health Month (June).
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) voted to protect our communities and schools with a strong legislative package to address gun violence. The Protecting Our Kids Act includes common-sense gun safety measures that will crack down on illegal gun trafficking, keep weapons of war out of the hands of teenagers, strengthen safe gun storage, restrict access to untraceable “ghost guns” and more.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This morning, on the floor of the United States House of Representatives, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) delivered a speech celebrating the life and works of the Honorable Ella Scarborough, the first African American woman to serve on the Charlotte City Council, as well as the first to chair the Mecklenburg County Board of County Commissioners.

Attendees are encouraged to wear orange as Charlotte and Mecklenburg County come together to call attention to the gun violence crisis that takes more than 30 lives and wounds hundreds more in the US every single day.
CHARLOTTE – Today,Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), Mecklenburg County District Attorney Spencer Merriweather, and Grace McLain with Moms Demand Action stressed the importance of urgent action during a virtual event for Gun Violence Awareness Day. Over 100 Mecklenburg County residents attended along with members of the media.
