Local issues in the District will always be the primary concern of Congresswoman Adams. She takes her duties as the U.S. Representative of North Carolina's 12th Congressional District very seriously. Whether she is securing federal funding for district schools or health care institutions, or fighting for a living wage and affordable taxes for her constituents, she will always put the needs of the 12th District first, and be its advocate in the House of Representatives.

CHARLOTTE – On Tuesday, March 30 at 6:00 PM EDT, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) will host a town hall event for constituents on the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9 Trillion COVID-19 relief package passed earlier this month. The public is invited to attend and submit questions ahead of time.

Charlotte – Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) is honored to sponsor the Congressional Art Competition, which is open to Charlotte-Mecklenburg high school students who reside in and/or attend school in the 12th Congressional District. Students can enter the competition here; submissions are due by April 16.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – As we mark Equal Pay Day on March 24, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) said that more needs to be done to close the wage gap that still exists between men and women – including passage of the critical Paycheck Fairness Act. Each year, Equal Pay Day symbolizes when, almost three months into the year, women's wages finally catch up to what men were paid in the previous year.
Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), joined by 19 of her colleagues, sent a letter to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky urging the CDC to restart and expand an effective, on-site vaccination program for seniors vulnerable to contracting COVID-19. To date, the CDC's Pharmacy Partnership Long Term Care program has administered over 7.5 million doses of vaccine to seniors and health care workers at certain facilities.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) voted for final passage of H.R. 1319, the American Rescue Plan Act, landmark, life-saving legislation that will provide urgently-needed resources to defeat the COVID-19 virus, put vaccines in people's arms, money into families' pockets, children safely back into classrooms and people back to work. This legislation will now go to President Biden's desk for his signature.
Washington, D.C. – Last night, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) honored the late Congressman and modern-day founding father, John Lewis, on the floor of the United States House of Representatives during a special order hour commemorating the "Bloody Sunday" march in Selma, Alabama 56 years ago. Adams joined other members of the Congressional Black Caucus for the event, many of whom wore "Good Trouble" masks in honor of Lewis.
