Local issues in the District will always be the primary concern of Congresswoman Adams. She takes her duties as the U.S. Representative of North Carolina's 12th Congressional District very seriously. Whether she is securing federal funding for district schools or health care institutions, or fighting for a living wage and affordable taxes for her constituents, she will always put the needs of the 12th District first, and be its advocate in the House of Representatives.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) and Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) introduced resolutions marking Black Women's Equal Pay Day in the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, respectively. The resolution recognizes the significance of equal pay and the disparity in wages paid to white, non-Hispanic men and to Black women.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) announced she is an original cosponsor of the Protecting Renters from Evictions Act of 2021. The legislation will soon be introduced by House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters to provide a clean extension of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) eviction moratorium until December 31, 2021. It is expected to be considered by the House of Representatives within the next 24 hours.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced $60 million in funding for its largest-ever cohort of university-based Industrial Assessment Centers (IACs), which assist small- and medium-sized manufacturers in reducing their carbon emissions and lowering energy costs, while training the next generation of energy-efficiency workers. The groundbreaking investment will help remove barriers to decarbonization across the manufacturing sector and advance the Biden Administration's goal of achieving a clean energy economy.
Charlotte – Yesterday Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) sent a letter to Chief District Court Judge Elizabeth Trosch, Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden, and Mecklenburg County Clerk of Superior Court Elisa Chinn Gary asking for them to "do everything within [their] powers to effectively extend the eviction moratorium in Mecklenburg County through the month of August or later."
Washington, D.C. – Yesterday Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) and Senator Natasha Marcus (NC-SD-41) sent a letter to the leadership of the North Carolina General Assembly asking for their support for the Town of Huntersville in the state budget. Adams' letter requests equitable funding for the town in the final American Rescue Plan Act budget; Governor Roy Cooper's proposed budget already includes the funding.
