Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released to following statement after President Trump issued a new Executive Order banning travelers from six Muslim-majority countries.

"This repackaged Muslim ban is just another thinly-veiled attempt to discriminate against our Muslim brothers and sisters," said Congresswoman Adams. "This ban, like the last, was established under the auspice of increased security yet the administration has provided no explanation for why people from these six countries pose a risk to our national security.

Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement calling for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"Attorney General Sessions' session must end. He lied under oath not once, but twice about his knowledge of any conversations or connections between surrogates of the Trump campaign and Russia," said Congresswoman Adams. "This is unacceptable. The American people should not tolerate a crook for its top cop.

Washington, D.C.—Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after President Trump announced his Executive Order entitled "Promoting excellence, innovation, and sustainability at historically black colleges and universities".

"Today, President Trump, like every president since Jimmy Carter, signed an Executive Order on HBCUs," said Congresswoman Adams. "This order is a first step towards supporting our HBCUs but there is greater work to be done. Our schools need a real commitment and investment from this administration.

"House Republicans just stripped millions of Americans of vital Healthcare," said Congresswoman Adams. "Last year, more than four million people nationwide had HIV testing, cancer screenings and other preventative care funded by Title X grants. I could not, in good faith and conscience, support this reckless measure.
