American Rescue Plan

CHARLOTTE – On Tuesday, March 30 at 6:00 PM EDT, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) will host a town hall event for constituents on the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9 Trillion COVID-19 relief package passed earlier this month. The public is invited to attend and submit questions ahead of time.

WASHINGTON, D.C.– As we mark Equal Pay Day on March 24,Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) said that more needs to be done to close the wage gap that still exists between men and women – including passage of the critical Paycheck Fairness Act. Each year, Equal Pay Day symbolizes when, almost three months into the year, women's wages finally catch up to what men were paid in the previous year.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) voted to pass H.J.Res. 17, a joint resolution to remove an arbitrary time limit previously set by Congress for the states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), a proposed amendment to the Constitution that guarantees equal rights for women. This joint resolution has bipartisan support from 209 cosponsors and passed last Congress by a bipartisan vote of 232 to 183.

Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), joined by 19 of her colleagues, sent a letter to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky urging the CDC to restart and expand an effective, on-site vaccination program for seniors vulnerable to contracting COVID-19. To date, the CDC's Pharmacy Partnership Long Term Care program has administered over 7.5 million doses of vaccine to seniors and health care workers at certain facilities.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Fourth Annual HBCU STEAM Day of Action saw engagement in both houses of Congress and across the political spectrum. The Bipartisan Congressional HBCU Caucus, co-chaired by Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) and Representative French Hill (AR-02), hosted HBCU STEAM Day. The hundreds of HBCU and industry leaders participating in HBCU STEAM Day met with over 30 members of the Senate and the House of Representatives over the course of the week.
