CHARLOTTE – Tonight, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement on the grand jury indictment in Louisville, Kentucky today:
"I am deeply saddened that no one was directly charged for the murder of Breonna Taylor. While a former police officer was charged for his reckless disregard for human life that night, this is a decision that is both disappointing and not surprising.
Washington, D.C. - This week, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) introduced legislation to ensure that all Americans have equal access to apprenticeship programs that align with today's workforce needs. This bill is part of the broader National Apprenticeship Act (NAA) of 2020.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), co-founder and co-chair of the Black Maternal Health Caucus, as well as chair of the House Education & Labor Committee Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, delivered remarks from the House floor in support of H.R. 2694, the Pregnant Workers' Fairness Act. Adams is one of the co-sponsors of the bill.
The Pregnant Workers' Fairness Act passed the House this afternoon with bipartisan support.
WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), introduced a resolution, H. Res. 1096, "expressing support for the designation of the week of August 25 through August 31, 2020, as 'Black Breastfeeding Week' to bring national attention to the United States maternal child health crisis in the Black community and the important role that breastfeeding plays in improving maternal and infant health outcomes."
