Washington, D.C. – Today, in run-up to this week's Third Annual, and first virtual, Diversity in Tech Summit, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) announced two new companies joining the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Partnership Challenge.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), co-founder and co-chair of the Black Maternal Health Caucus, as well as chair of the House Education & Labor Committee Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, delivered remarks from the House floor in support of H.R. 2694, the Pregnant Workers' Fairness Act. Adams is one of the co-sponsors of the bill.
The Pregnant Workers' Fairness Act passed the House this afternoon with bipartisan support.
WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), introduced a resolution, H. Res. 1096, "expressing support for the designation of the week of August 25 through August 31, 2020, as 'Black Breastfeeding Week' to bring national attention to the United States maternal child health crisis in the Black community and the important role that breastfeeding plays in improving maternal and infant health outcomes."
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) introduced a resolution "expressing the sense of Congress that August 30, 2020, be observed as the 130th anniversary of the 1890 Institutions." Today, the 1890 Universities Foundation, with the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities (APLU), hosted a webinar to celebrate the anniversary and acknowledged the resolution's introduction.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – New legislation introduced by House Committee on Agriculture Vice Chair Alma Adams (NC-12) would help save the farmers, farms, and families hardest hit by COVID-19. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, with the U.S. Postal Service under assault from the Trump Administration, Rep. Alma Adams voted to pass H.R. 8015, the Delivering for America Act. The Delivering for America Act requires the Postal Service to return to the Postal Service operations and levels of service that were in place on January 1, 2020 throughout the duration of the coronavirus public health emergency and requires all election mail to be treated as First-Class mail.
