WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Alma Adams' (NC-12) bill, the HBCU Capital Finance Debt Relief Act, which cancels over $1.3 billion in debt held by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), was included in the Omnibus spending deal. Additionally, many of Adams' priorities to build equity in higher education were included in the FY21 Omnibus.

Building Our Future Infrastructure Town Hall (Huntersville)

The call will cover topics ranging from successes in the 116th Congress; what teachers, students, and schools need before Congress goes home for the holidays; and what to look forward to in the next Congress and beyond.

Charlotte - On National App Day, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) announces this year's Congressional App Challenge winners from Mecklenburg County. Since 2013, the Congressional App Challenge has provided high school students across the country the opportunity to create and display their software applications (or "app") for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The competition is intended to encourage engagement in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education.
This year's winners are:
