Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, a former professor and member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee today announced the introduction of a resolution she sponsored to commemorate Women's History Month by honoring the contributions women have made to education. H. Res. 176 recognizes and honors the achievements of women that have helped to create greater access to education and have helped close gender equality gaps.

Butterfield (NC-1) and David Price (NC-4) today sent a letter urging North Carolina's two U.S. Senators to support Loretta Lynch, who is a North Carolina native, in her nomination for Attorney General. Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis previously announced their opposition to Lynch's nomination.

Loretta Lynch is a Greensboro native and former Attorney General for the Eastern District of New York.
WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) joined members of Congress in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1965 march from Selma, Alabama, to Montgomery. In recognition of this historic event, she and Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (AL-7) introduced H.R. 1161, a bill that annually designates at least one city an "American Civil Rights City," as determined by the Department of the Interior.
