Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) is searching for the next student app developer in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Since 2013, the Congressional App Challenge has provided high school students across the country the opportunity to create and display their software applications (or "app") for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The competition is intended to encourage engagement in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education.

The need to extend benefits is urgent as North Carolina's school year ended June 12.
