CHARLOTTE — Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) continued her Made in the 12th District Tour with Mayor Jennifer Roberts and Councilwoman LaWana Mayfield by hosting a roundtable with local manufacturers. The roundtable brought together employers and workforce development trainers to discuss issues impacting the manufacturing sector-which is one of North Carolina’s largest industries.

Participating companies included Siemens Energy, Inc., Snyder’s-Lance, Inc., Bosch Rexroth, Charlotte Works, and participants from Central Piedmont Community College.

HIGHPOINT, NC — Congresswoman Adams (NC-12) continued her August Made in the 12th tour by visiting NCWorks Career Center and Jack Cartwright Inc. of Boss Design Group in High Point.

NCWorks Career Center is a one-stop resource for job seekers and employers. During her visit, Congresswoman Adams discussed the challenges workers face in today’s job market. The conversations centered on the need to address the jobs and skills gap and other ways to prepare workers to compete in the global economy.

The Innovation Quarter is one of the fastest growing urban-based districts for innovation in the country. It is a catalyst for the innovation economy in and around Winston-Salem through the support of research; business and education in biomedical science; information technology; clinical services and advanced materials.
