Washington, D.C.—Today, the Bipartisan Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caucus and the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) Caucus hosted the first HBCU STEAM Day of Action on Capitol Hill. This unique event brought HBCU presidents and administrators from thirty-four schools and industry leaders to Capitol Hill to meet with key Members of Congress and senior staff from both parties and in both chambers.
Washington, D.C.—Today, during the first HBCU STEAM Day of Action, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (D-NC) and Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-AL), co-chairs of the Bipartisan Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caucus, announced that Lyft is the second entity to take the HBCU Partnership Challenge. The previously announced Challenge and survey are an effort to promote equal support for HBCUs and the students they serve.

Washington, D.C.—On the third anniversary of the launch of the Adams Hunger Initiative, Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) led a letter, signed by members of the Adams Hunger Initiative, to the House Agriculture Committee Chairman Michael Conaway (R-TX) and Ranking Member Collin Peterson (D-MN) expressing the 12th District's priority to protect funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other important nutrition programs in the upcoming Farm Bill legislation.
The Power Rising Summit took over Atlanta this past weekend with black women from all over the country coming to engage. The summit, planned for and by black women, was sold out and packed with celebrities, politicians and activists in attendance.
