Local issues in the District will always be the primary concern of Congresswoman Adams. She takes her duties as the U.S. Representative of North Carolina's 12th Congressional District very seriously. Whether she is securing federal funding for district schools or health care institutions, or fighting for a living wage and affordable taxes for her constituents, she will always put the needs of the 12th District first, and be its advocate in the House of Representatives.

GREENSBORO — Today, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) and Guilford County Commissioner Ray Trapp visited the Honda Aircraft Company headquarters in Greensboro, NC as the last stop on the Made in the 12th District Tour.
CHARLOTTE — Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) continued her Made in the 12th District Tour with Mayor Jennifer Roberts and Councilwoman LaWana Mayfield by hosting a roundtable with local manufacturers. The roundtable brought together employers and workforce development trainers to discuss issues impacting the manufacturing sector-which is one of North Carolina’s largest industries.
Participating companies included Siemens Energy, Inc., Snyder’s-Lance, Inc., Bosch Rexroth, Charlotte Works, and participants from Central Piedmont Community College.
HIGHPOINT, NC — Congresswoman Adams (NC-12) continued her August Made in the 12th tour by visiting NCWorks Career Center and Jack Cartwright Inc. of Boss Design Group in High Point.
NCWorks Career Center is a one-stop resource for job seekers and employers. During her visit, Congresswoman Adams discussed the challenges workers face in today’s job market. The conversations centered on the need to address the jobs and skills gap and other ways to prepare workers to compete in the global economy.
WINSTON-SALEM — Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) and Mayor Allen Joines visited Forsyth Technical Community College in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter, to learn more about workforce training.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today marks the 51st anniversary of the signing of the Voting Rights Act. The U.S. Supreme Court decision in Shelby County v. Holder invalidated a key component in the Voting Rights Act, which protects voters from discrimination. Since that decision, advocates for the Voting Rights Act have called on Republicans in Congress to allow a vote on bipartisan legislation to restore key provisions of this important law.
